Whether you are transitioning from breaststroke (head up or head in!) or already able to swim front crawl and want to swim with less effort and more efficiency, we’ll show you how to swim an efficient, enjoyable relaxed front crawl.
The course will be held at Canon Slade School, Bradshaw Brow, Bolton, BL2 3BP at 7.00pm on Tuesdays 15/22 October and 5/12/19 November with an online introduction session on Wednesday 9th October at 6.00pm (this session will be recorded if you can’t attend live). Please note there is no pool session on 29th October. The school has temporary changing room with limited facilities. The walk from the changing rooms to the pool is covered and is only a few steps but is likely to be chilly in cold weather so a warm coat would be useful!
We’ll give you all the knowledge and skills you’ll need to practice in your own time both during and after the course. To get the most out of the course, it’s important to make sure you plan a couple of practices between course sessions.
The course costs £225* and includes the 6 sessions, supporting materials, ongoing personal support and video analysis above and below the water at the start and finish of the course. The course will have a maximum of 5 swimmers. We’ll make sure that you have everything you need to continue to coach yourself after the course has finished.
* It’s really important to attend all the sessions and to make time to practise in between sessions. I’m afraid we won’t be able to offer refunds or offer alternative sessions for any session you may miss but we will do our best to make sure you have the materials and advice needed to catch up
Our step-by-step approach will show you how to swim efficient, fast front crawl with no stress and no pressure.
To get the most out of the course you will need to be confident in the water and able to swim a little of any stroke and be happy in the deep end. If you are not comfortable putting your face in the water please contact Sarah before booking [email protected]
It doesn’t mean you can’t do the course we just want to make sure it’s the right option for you.

Ideally yes! Each week will build on the skills learned the previous week so you will make far quicker progress if you make time for 2 or 3 short practice sessions in between lessons. You will receive everything you need to know exactly how to practise the day following the session.
This course is aimed at adult swimmers so the minimum age is 18.
This course is suitable for people who can already swim (any stroke, anyhow) and are confident with their face in the water and in the deep end of a swimming pool. If you are not yet at this stage please get in touch with us to book some one-to-one lessons.
Yes. The course is aimed at people who can already swim a bit but want to learn or improve their front crawl. We welcome a range of abilities including people who can not swim any front crawl. You need to be comfortable putting your face in the water and swimming in the deep end.
Yes. We will teach you how to be more efficient and relaxed in the water so that you swim faster and save energy. Video analysis will show you where you can improve, and we will give you all the drills and skills needed to practice in your own time.
These sessions are about learning good technique, so we do not swim lots of lengths. This means that they shouldn’t be physically tiring. However, learning something new requires focus and concentration so sometimes people find them mentally tiring!
Please bring your swimming costume or trunks (close-fitting are better), swim cap, goggles, drink and a towel.
There is plenty of car parking at the school.
Unfortunately, refunds can’t be offered, but if you let us know in good time we will try to re-sell your place wherever possible.
Teaching is delivered by Sarah Hill, a fully licensed Total Immersion Swimming Instructor in a small group of up to 5 swimmers.
