This 2.5 hour intensive workshop is for adults who can already swim front crawl but want to make it feel easier, smoother and more efficient.
You don’t need to be super-fit, a fast or particularly accomplished swimmer, but you should be able to swim at least 50m of front crawl with a reasonable level of comfort in the water.
With a maximum of just four swimmers, you’ll get expert instruction, individual feedback and plenty of time to work on your own stroke.
If you want to…
…then this front crawl workshop is for you.
(This course is not for people who cannot swim front crawl at all – please look out for dates for our Beginner sessions.)
We’ll use the principles of Total Immersion swimming to help you develop a smoother, more efficient front crawl.
You’ll learn:
The principles of an efficient front crawl stroke and how to apply them to your own swimming
How correct balance, body position and streamlining reduce drag and help you move further through the water with less effort
How to breathe comfortably and efficiently without disrupting your stroke
How to recognise what’s helping – and what’s wasting energy
How to practise effectively so you can continue improving after the session
Most importantly, you won’t just be given a collection of drills to copy. You’ll understand why you’re making each change, what it should feel like and how to continue coaching yourself when you’re back in the pool on your own.
2.5 hours of intensive coaching
A maximum of four swimmers
Individual feedback
Above and below water video analysis
Your analysed video sent to you after the session
Personal practice points
Supporting materials to help you continue improving
£197 per person
Sessions are held in an 18m private pool at Canon Slade School, Bradshaw Brow, Bolton, BL2 3BP
We’ll film your swimming above and below the water so you can actually see what’s happening in your stroke and understand what you need to change.
After the session, you’ll receive your analysed video together with your individual practice points, so you know exactly what to work on when you’re back in the pool on your own.
The aim isn’t just to improve your swimming during the Intensive. It’s to give you the understanding and skills to continue improving your own stroke afterwards.
This course is aimed at adult swimmers so the minimum age is 18.
I’m afraid not, the session is aimed at people who can already swim front crawl. You don’t need to be super-fit, a fast or particularly accomplished swimmer, but you should be able to swim at least 50m of front crawl with a reasonable level of comfort in the water.
Yes. We will teach you how to be more efficient and relaxed in the water so that you swim faster and save energy. Video analysis will show you where you can improve, and we will give you all the drills and skills needed to practice in your own time.
These sessions are about learning good technique, so we do not swim lots of lengths. This means that they shouldn’t be particularly physically tiring. However, learning something new requires focus and concentration so sometimes people find them mentally tiring!
Please bring your swimming costume or trunks (close-fitting are better), swim cap, goggles, drink and a towel.
There is plenty of car parking at the school.
Unfortunately, refunds can’t be offered, but if you let us know in good time we will try to re-sell your place wherever possible.
Teaching is delivered by Sarah Hill, Total Immersion coach in a small group of up to 4 swimmers.
